EFT Tutorial and Guide
THE TARKOV CENTRAL

Which Map Should I Start With?
Not too long ago, players were advised to start with "Customs" and "Woods" (why? Check out the article on the best maps for learning EFT), mainly because early missions took place there. They’re still solid maps for learning the game.
But then BSG introduced a new map called Ground Zero, where you’ll complete your first four missions and only encounter players up to level 20. Players level 21 and above are placed in separate instances. This setup ensures you won’t face highly skilled players with significantly better gear—though you should still be cautious during the periods immediately following a wipe!
So, start by learning Ground Zero. However, if raiding there starts feeling repetitive, you can explore Customs and Woods. You’ll eventually need to head there for missions following those on Ground Zero, and they remain excellent maps for beginners.
Factory is another good option, but initially mainly for practicing combat against AI. I don’t recommend it for your first “real” raids, as combat there is fast-paced and in close quarters (CQC), where more experienced players with map and combat knowledge have a significant advantage.
Focus on one or two maps at most to start, as they are complex and intricate. You’ll need to develop a sense of direction and get comfortable with game mechanics.
On the other hand, once you gain some experience with EFT, learning the other maps becomes much easier.
