Types of Loot and Where to Find It

Loot in EFT is divided into categories: barter items, gear, weapon parts & mods, weapons, ammo, provisions, medication, keys, info items, special equipment, maps, money, quest items.

You can check the complete list on the EFT Wiki page about Loot.

Certain containers or rooms contain only specific types of loot. For example, a “med bag” will have only medical items or materials for crafting medical supplies.

Other containers can hold a wide variety of loot. This includes sports bags, jackets, and hidden cashes, which may contain a broader range of items, including rare and valuable ones.

Often, logic can guide you to the loot you need. Pharmacies in Streets of Tarkov have medicines, restaurants stock food and drinks, as do supermarkets.

Other times, experience or external maps can help you locate loot. Medicines in Streets of Tarkov, for example, are not only found in pharmacies but also in certain rooms of buildings, inside med bags, or placed on furniture or floors.

Knowing loot locations is crucial, whether for finding quest items, upgrading your hideout, or dealing with emergencies during a raid.

For example, if you didn’t bring food and your energy is depleting, knowing where to find it quickly can be a lifesaver. Similarly, if you’re injured and out of medkits, knowing where to find medical supplies could mean the difference between life and death.

Note:  Patch 0.16 introduced a pretty big change by introducing the rule by which now to upgrade your hideout you need FIR (Found In Raid) items. Read the article I wrote about this for info, tips and a greatly useful videos made by Pestily and Gigabeef on where to find the loot you need!
