In the beginning, combat may feel quite challenging.

Don’t get discouraged. We’ve all been there—it’s just a matter of practice and getting used to it.

​

Try to move quietly and stay in cover, leaning out to check if the area is clear before advancing. If you spot an enemy, try to take them out before they notice you.

​

When exposing yourself in the open to check for enemies or investigate a noise, never stand still. Keep moving—side to side or circle-strafing—to make yourself a harder target. This is especially effective against snipers, whether AI or players.

Avoid running unless it’s necessary (e.g. you have to cross an open area with no cover) or you’re sure no one is nearby. Even in Practice Mode, where there are no real players, AI can still be dangerous, and sometimes they can shoot with deadly accuracy if they detect you.

Also, remember that when you run, you can’t shoot, as your weapon is lowered.

In some situations, however, running is essential—like when you’re crossing open ground under enemy fire. The faster you move, the harder it will be for enemies (even AI) to hit you.

​

If you suddenly come under fire, remember the right reaction: run for cover. Never stop to turn around and figure out who’s shooting or where they are. Standing still out in the open is the fastest way to get killed.
