Hidden Extracts

With Patch 0.16, Battlestate Games introduced Hidden Extracts in "Escape from Tarkov." While many players celebrated the addition of new extraction points across various maps, it's important to note that not all maps received new extraction points; in some cases, existing ones were modified. Hidden Extracts have been implemented on all maps except Interchange and The Lab.

The Hidden Extracts can be activated by finding paper notes or minefield maps during raids. These items can be discovered in random containers, ranging from Scav bodies to filing cabinets and hidden caches. Once you find the code, your list of extraction points will automatically update to include these new hidden extraction points. To extract, the player must enter the correct area and activate the "Transmit Code" or "Transmit Mines" option (depending on whether the item to activate them is a note or a minefield map) that will appear on the screen.

Hidden extractions can be used by both PMCs and Scav players.

Hidden Extracts map by map:

Customs: The extraction points Smugglers' Boat and Smugglers' Bunker (ZB-1012), which were previously "uncertain" extraction points requiring players to physically check their availability, have now become Hidden Extracts. They can no longer be used unless the Note with code word Voron is found.

Shoreline: The Mountain Bunker, previously known as Old Bunker and serving as a Scav extract, has become a Hidden Extract. It requires the Note with code word Heartbeat.

Lighthouse: A new extract called Passage by the Lake has been added as a Hidden Extract. It requires the Minefield map (Lighthouse).

Reserve: A new extract called Exit to Woods has been added. It requires the Minefield map (Reserve).

Factory: A new extract called Smugglers' Passage has been added. It requires the Note with code word Ark.

Woods: A new extract called Railway Bridge to Tarkov has been added in the new Train Depot area, accessible only by using the BTR taxi service that roams the map. It requires the Minefield map (Woods).

Streets of Tarkov: A new extract called Smugglers' Basement has been added. It requires the Note with code word Onyx.

Considerations about Hidden Extracts

While not a game-changing feature, the introduction of Hidden Extracts in "Escape from Tarkov" adds a compelling mechanic, offering players alternative extraction routes and enhancing strategic options during raids. These secret extractions provide a "safer" way of extracting, as opponents may not anticipate players utilizing these hidden routes (Catch me if you can, extract campers!).

For instance, during a recent Scav run on Customs, I spawned near the Big Red warehouse on the east side of the river and discovered three PMC bodies laden with valuable loot. Among them, I found a Scav carrying the Note with code word Voron. This fortunate find enabled me to use the Smugglers' Boat Hidden Extract, allowing for a swift exit without traversing the entire map to other extraction points, thereby minimizing risk and securing the valuable items I had acquired. Pretty nice!
